Bridges by Doolang Design
Building a bridge across a chasm is always a noteworthy and especially satisfying achievement. I have built bridges from wood, stone and rock and if I come across some pictures I will put them up. Pictured below are a couple of steel bridges I designed and built. They are the largest bridges I have ever built. The first is a footbridge, the second will carry 20 tons. Both bridges span 40 feet.
This foot bridge has a steel deck about 3 feet wide and spans 40 feet. It was built at the shop and then set in place.

This bridge is 13 feet wide and 40 feet long with a steel deck. The steel deck may one day be filled with concrete. The span is capable of supporting over 40,000 pounds without the center pier. It took us about a month for the two of us to build this.
